When Mike isn’t working he can be found playing guitar badly, banging a drum loudly and singing songs he doesn’t know the words to. Occasionally found at sunrise or sunset on the side of a mountain or beach taking a photograph. A braai and wine enthusiast he spends most of his weekends spending time with his awesome family .

An international speaker, Mike has had the privilege of working with some of the worlds most prestigious organisations including Vodafone, IBM, Microsoft, KPMG, Norton Rose, Mr Price, Toyota and Exxaro. Along with his experience in business, Mike has also contributed to leadership programmes for Gordon’s Institute of Business (GIBS).
Mike has been at the forefront of business transitioning into a world of social and mobile technology and has been a key part of important projects looking into the use of social technology in marketing campaigns, internal communications, social learning, leadership development, knowledge management, collaboration, project management and enterprise social media.
Acknowledged by his peers as one of the Top 20 South Africans to follow on Twitter, and one of the best contributors to the industry in 2012 by the DMMA, Mike has won the respect of business by his determined approach to helping business navigate a diverse and complicated world of Digital Business. Mike’s digital agency DigitLab was voted one of South Africa’s Best Digital Agency’s by The Bookmarks Awards in 2012.
Through DigitLab Mike has launched a number of new resources to the digital industry including Monocle, a real-time social analytics tool tracking Influencer Marketing and Social Media Crisis. He launched the DigitLab Academy in collaboration with Vega at the end of 2015, teaching marketers key digital strategies.
Mike is often called on by business magazines and websites to comment on technology, social media and Generation Y.
